Menarche wound, Pill pressure and an inherent wild light…
As a little girl I divided my time between devouring magical, spiritual tales and the gym.
By the time I approached menarche my career as a competitive gymnast was over as my body could not take any more the rigid trainings.
There I was: an hyper-perfectionist, completely disconnected from my fundamental needs.
I suffered from severe pre-menstrual abdominal cramps and later on cystic acne.
At the age of 17 my doctor put me on the Pill. Bye bye acne and pain-killers; hello digestive problems, yeast infections, weight gain and mood swings!
After some years on and off the Pill and countless trips to doctors near and far I intuitively decided to ditch it and clueless spent a good amount of time dealing with PMS and irregular menstrual cycles thereafter.

Post-partum crash, yoga and menstrual power…
What if… post-partum exhaustion, brain fog and heavy menstrual bleeding where not something I would just have to put up with?
I realised I had been pushing my body beyond its limits with disordered eating and exhausting high level performance trainings.
Sure, I had a regular yoga practice and I had left my corporate job to dedicate myself full time to teaching yoga.
But I was missing one fundamental piece:
I was still struggling with my menstrual cycle and feeling like my body was a troublesome piece of my existence.

Respecting my cyclical nature was so much more than not practising inverted asanas during the menstrual phase.
I learned to be in the flow of the natural cyclical rhythm and I experienced first hand the huge benefits on body health, mental and emotional steadiness. I learned:
